Calcite
Non silicate mineral, an essential component of sedimentary carbonate rock (limestone).
Granite
Igneous rock consisting primarily of quartz, orthoclase and biotite. Variable in colour depending on composition.
Marble
Metamorphic rock of various structure and colours, deriving from sedimentary rocks submitted to various temperature and pressure conditions.
Rock
While mineral is a uniform chemical compound which is expressed by a formula, a rock is a natural aggregate of different minerals. Thus, a rock is usually a mixture of different mineral types.
Sedimentary rock
Number of phenomena leading to the formation of sedimentary rocks from pre-existing rock.
